With well over 100 entries the judges, which include past custom winners, the Nationals staff, and Mattel designers had their work cut out for them to choose a winner and picked these as the best of the bunch. From simple paint jobs to all out sculpting of many Hot Wheels parts into one model. Just received a package from A&J Toys caulk full for new series cars. There is no disappointing casting in these three selections. Although some of the models in the Retro line are not exact to the original series cars but they do represent the era and the style of the cars of that time. One of my favorites is the ’71 Plymouth Satellite station wagon. I believe there were about 5 different station wagons were used in the series and this one doesn’t match any of them. It is done up in true Hot Wheels style with a shaker hood and large rear tires. Greg must of gotten his hands on it when Mike and Carol were away for the weekend. As for the Boulevards, I’m sad to see this series end. The last of this series did give us 3 great new castings for future enjoyment. I hope they use them ...
I received the second of the 2 rewards cars offered for 2012, The Volkswagen Drag Truck. The wait was worth it! Beautifully done in Spectraflame blue with 5 spoke redline Real Riders. Trimmed out in race team fashion with the red and white Hot Wheels logo and the number 11(for series 11) on the sides. It has a solid white wing and engine cover, metellic blue trim and details, right down to the California license plate (RWRDS 11). Enjoy the pictures. I’m free from my packaging. Nice Details Showing off its muscle. The Hudson Hornet patiently waiting for its arrival.

Trackin’ Trucks, new Jukebox with Sam Walton Ford F-150, mutli-pack exclusives, new 5-pack and K case dump bins. The most startling thing is the lack of super and regular hunts in these cases. Could it be the black market and eBay are making it harder to find these in the wild at stores. Over 40 cases opened by friends in the area and a total of 3 bent card supers found.
