The latest round of cars has the Hot Wheels Newsletter crew thinking about the top 5 picks of the ‘P’ Mix of cars. Here is our list of picks in no particular order . Check out all  the 2013 mainline releases so far.  Mad Props – Introduces in 2004 it has been a staple in the line up ever since. With 29 releases including variations this one is not a disappointment. With its red, white and flat black colors and Fire department design make this a must have in any ‘Fire Rods’ collection. Baja Truck – With only its second release and the first time in mainline we believe this one will be quickly bought up. I just received the latest cases from A&J Toys and couldn’t wait to share some group pictures with my readers. The B Mix of Cool Classics, Pop Culture Universal Monsters Mix G and Retro Entertainment asst. E.

I just received the first 6 of this 30 car series and I’m not disappointed in the casting choices. But there is the exception of the 2 color car card variation. Since I don’t collect the cardboard it just won’t matter to me. I will keep an example of each just for future reference and I list of which cars came with both car colors cardboard. The best part of this series is that there will not be assorted colors of the same model and no chase pieces. One color and done. Furthermore there isn’t any current plans for a multi-car set. This line keeps on giving. The next 5 of the next 6 issues are out and they don’t disappoint. My favorite one of this batch is the Harley-Davidson Fat Boy mf blue with rider and Dog. Cool Classics are just starting to hit the stores internationally and all ready a variation of sorts has shown up. The card art on the early run has the Custom Otto in blue and the second run has the Custom Otto in red. I believe after seeing the line on a mock-up display the decision was made to change the car red. It feels to me that the red gives a more contrast and more ‘pop’ on the pegs.  I personal like the card with the red Custom Otto better. Even though I won’t chase every car in to different packages, I will put a few in my collection if I find them….

I just received my Ledgendary ’71 El Camino and I’m unbelieveablely impressed. I was expecting the first edition release with different wheels. What arrived was some totally cool. It’s a heavy metalflake black paint with a chrome interior and clear windows. It has the HWTF logo on the sides and a lot of detailing such as the lights, window trim, etc… The best part is the ghostly gray and matte black streaks on the hood and sides representing the travelling through time, votices, and wormholes. This piece was squeezed into production a short time frame and is a very limited run. Very nicely done Mattel.
