The new year started with a bang. There are more new multi-pack only cars have been found, a new Muscle Mania 5-pack and the “D” case assortments. New Models include: #45 Z-ROD, #127 Muscle Speeder, #130 ’15 Dodge Charger SRT, #245 HW FORMULA SOLAR. The regular Treasure Hunt is the 4Ward Speed and the Super Treasure Hunt is the  #189 ’14 Corvette Stingray. Also received the first 2016 Entertainment series from A&J Toys. A somewhat disappointing set with most rehashed Entertainment cars.

The first of the 2016 Pop Culture series were found at Toy’s ‘R’ Us this week. Popular models include the Convoy Custom and Custom Chevy Greenbrier Sports Wagon. If you can’t find them in the store check out A&J Toys for case sales. 

A few updates this week added ‘D’ case at mainlines by the mix and are expected to be out by the end of the month. The mainline list has been updated the with ‘C’ case photos. More multi-pack cars have being and I’m sure more are on the way. As for the ‘C’ case. There are four new models which are: #044 Monteracer, #120 Porsche 356A Outlaw, #184 Nissan Fairlady Z, and #149 Dawgzilla. The Treasure Hunts are the Rip Rod for the regular and the super Treasure Hunt is the ’90 Acura NSX.

It’s been a busy couple of weeks for collecting. Recently found the Holiday Hot Rods mixed in “B” case mainline mix dump bins at Walmart. We just received the hobby only Entertainment “K” case purchased off eBay but it has been reported that they have been found in Walmart stores in Canada. The last case assortment of HW Road Trippin’ have been appearing on eBay. The good people at  A&J Toys sent over the Heritage – Real Riders case. Just found are the first two 2016 gift pack exclusives including new 2016 multi-pack only releases. Mattel even surprised us with the return of the Target exclusive Snowflake cars for 2016. Also a friend from Europe send over twelve new Mystery Models for 2016. This set has a mf gold Loop Coupe chase piece.       ,

The 29th Convention was one of the best Conventions attended. It is always fun to meet the first timers and to enjoy the times to get together with the seasoned convention goes. Over 350 rooms booked with about 250 rooms open at some time or another for room to room trading and selling. There are many things to do Downhill and Sizzlers racing, Button Bingo Convention Mania and Texas Hold’em. For the children there the coloring contest, scavenger hunt and more.  The convention dinner with the guest of honor Rob Mathis have over 300 dinners sold.  The dinner is one of the best values of the convention. For $125 you get a great dinner, a limited sticker dinner car, a t-shirt, a collector pin, a special painted code 3 dinner car, raffles, and the ability to buy extra dinner cars. Just updated the latest Q case assortment and current round of the Entertainment series thanks to A & J Toys. The Q case assortment has 2 new models, which are the #41 Ollie Rocket and ’96 Nissan 180SX Type X. The regular Treasure Hunt is the #106 Tread Air and the super is the #120 Toyota Off-Road. In the Entertainment series there are 3 new casting ’56 Chevy convertible, ’74 Marathon Taxi, and the Top Gun Kawasaki Ninja GPZ 900R. The somewhat disappointing release even though it’s metal on metal is the Tumbler. It is the less detailed plastic body version cast in metal. For a five dollar plus apiece we would of like to have seen the more detailed casting. Ollie Rocket This car was designed by six-year Oliver E. and the Hot Wheels design team to fulfill his wish creation and to support 35th Anniversary of Make-A-Wish.

Received the latest Pop Culture cars from A&J Toys. This batch features Nintendo’s most popular Mario games. The casting include: 8 Crate (Drx. Mario), Dairy Delivery (Super Mario Bros.), School Busted (Super Mario Bros. 3), Volkswagen T1 Panel Bus (Super Mario World), Cool-One (Super Mario Bros. 2), and A-OK (Super Mario Kart). The card art is well done and the nice surprise is when they are opened up. Most of the cars have different tampos on the drivers side. Enjoy the side by side shots.
