Mattel for 2011 issued 244 models in the basic line with 50 new models and for the first time in the Treasure Hunts history had a release of 15 Treasure Hunts models. Other segments included the popular Faster Than Ever series and HW Racing which have a Hot Wheels race deco theme and most could be found in 3 colors.. The cars chosen were voted on by collectors at HWC. Kmart Collector Day continue this year which had special color cars plus an offer for one of 3 mail-ins. TRU offered the 4th. Along with exclusive colors at Walmart there were surprise theme exclusives including redline tires, window wraps and others. The third year for the Garage series featured the manufactures which included Ferrari, GM, Mopar, and Volkswagen. 2-pack are introduced with the Adventure series. A new train line called Rapid Transit a 2-piece trains that worked on Hot Wheels® track. Late in the year Mattel introduced the Nostalgic Brands segment, a series of cars and trucks sporting themed graphics. Master of the Universe, General Mills, DC Comics and the likes. Also late in the year Mystery Models appeared with a new concept. 24 recolor 2011 mainlines in foils packages This was a hit with collectors.
