Found this variation just recently. The #95 Time Tracker with orange rim pr5. The common version was orange rim mc5. There was also a orange rim os5 version reported.
Found this one listed on eBay in a gift-pack. After looking I found quite a few myself. Look for clear windows on the ’70 Plymouth AAR Cuda. The blister pack version has blue windows.
This one was found only in Walmart Blitz 9-pack and is quite rare, The HW Showroom – American Turbo #186 Fangula with gold rim wheels.
Here’s a couple of more for 2013. The #85 red Time Tracker can be found with with blue sp10 which is common and a short run harder to find blue pr5 variation. The #184 MF green So Fine has chrome rim pr5 or the hard to fin chrome rim mc5 (top).
Earlier versions of the HW Stunts #85 gray and green Drift Rod has chrome 10 spoke on the front wheel and it currently seems to be a short run version. The common one is white 10 spokes.
Not to big a fan on color shades but this one has been pointed out to us more than once and is not to hard to find. The HW Stunt #86 red Baja Truck has light green or olive green stripes on the side design.
The 1997 Ford F-150 in mf blue commonly has chrome construction wheels (ct5) but it’s seem earl versions are found with red rim off-road 6 spoke wheels.

Look for the Lotus with PR5 wheels. It seems to be a short run and somewhat hard to find.
This one dried up fast the HW Stunt – Desert Race #90 BAJA Bone Shaker in mf blue with chrome construction tires (ct5)
Keep an eye out in the latest round of 3-packs containing the mf blue Camaro Concept Convertible some are sporting pr5 wheels.
I haven’t seen more then a picture of this one with pr5 wheels and I hope I can get my hands on one – HW Showroom – Muscle Mania #237 light blue ’65 Mustang Fastback 2+2
Most likely not a planed variation but the HW Showroom #184 So Fine in light metal flake blue comes in a very hard to find satin/flat blue finish.
If you have a Kroger’s store by you don’t skip over those #194 201 Hot Wheels Chevy Camaro Special Edition in mf light blue these come with a gray base. It’s there ‘exclusive’ promo piece.
I’m not one to get in plastic color variations but the blue Maximum Leeway comes in light and dark blue with a light and dark yellow interior.
The newest release of the Corvette Grand Sport found in the newer Target 20-packs sports Open 5 Spoke (os5) wheels. It’s being release in BP with Muscle Car 5 spokes (mc5) wheels It’s now been reported being found in BP with yellow os5.
Last but not least is the Walmart exclusive HW Showroom #159 Datsun 240 Z in zamac with 3 distinctive variations
1. All blue tampo including blue TOYO Tires
2. Blue tampo with red TOYO Tires and no trunk stripe
3. Blue tampo with red TOYO Tires and with the trunk stripe
There also appears to be one found with out TOYO Tires on the hood. It could be a transition piece when change colors but until more are reported We will called this a missing tampo error.

Internationally the #165 1987 Toyota Pickup Truck can be found with Off road 6 spokes (or6) instead of the common release construction 5 spoke (ct5)
Check those Porsche 918 spyders in red with light and dark interiors.

The Fast Gassin has produced a third wheel variation. It’s now been found with chrome MC5.
Also look for this sleeper, chrome rim open hole (os5bk/ch-rim) on the green ’80 Corvette.
Another os6 to ct5 wheel variation this time it’s on the orange Wheel Loader.

There’s been a lot of talk about the ’67 Summit Camaro and the variations been found. It seems there are now 4 different case and two different bases being used. (showing with doorhandles) As soon as I find the different versions I will get the pictures to you.
1.smooth body (common)
2.door handles (htf)
3.door lines (vhtf)
4. lines and handles (xhtf)
Found in multi-pack is the #222 Then and Now ’71 Dodge Challenger in black with os5 wheels. The standard is mc5.
The Then and Now #227 yellow ’08 Dodge Challenger with pr5 wheels.
It seems a version of the black ’07 Cadillac Escalade with mc5bk/bu-rim is rare and desirable. I know it has disappeared from most of store shelves, but if you see this one check the wheels.
Check you international carded mf blue Bump Around’s some are found to have gray 5 spoke (sp5gy) instead of the common black 5 spoke (sp5bk)
Early on the Chrome Burnerz High Voltage had a bare metal base and soon after it changed to a flat black painted metal base. The easiest way to ll is look at the front air dam. The bare metal base is drying up fast,

Another variation coming out of Austrailia and being found so far on internationals car is the orange Lotus M250 Project with pr5. Now found on US card too.
If your a ’70s Chevelle fan and like the Fast and the Furious line your might want to hunt for these two. Light and dark primer gray.
The HW Imagination Batcopter can be found with dark or light blue windshields. With dark blue being in the early cases.
New base for the 69 Dodge Charger means more detailed grille and tail lights. The grille on the older base looks like an I-beam center post and the new base has a more realistic “V” shaped center post. The tail lights are more realistic too.

It’s minor but there is a turbine variation on the #81 Batmobile. The difference to me looks to be a three fin turbine (F12) base and an unstructured turbine (F11 base).
Yellow is the newest color of the #1 ’70 Toyota Celica showing up and it can currently be found with the common mc5 wheels or the rarer for now os5 wheels.
Found in multi-packs internationally. This variation is now showing up on international card. Look for 10 spokes on the New model #8 Pagani Huayra.
The mainline version HW City #3 ’70 Dodge Charger R/T has been found with the body from the Walmart exclusive Fast and Furious series. Look for the painted hood pins on this model.
The Torque Twister the red one HW Racing – Thrill Racers #111 can be found with chrome rimmed mc5.
The mf blue Combat Medic HW City – HW Rescue #12 was reported with mc5 wheels instead of os5
The HW City – HW City Works #44 Wheel Loader in black comes with the plastic section in two distinct shades of orange with the lighter being more common. You can also find the lt. orange version with the vent grilles on top to be smooth or textured. The textured is rare.

The HW Showroom #206 mf purple ’80s Corvette was reported with mc5 instead of the common j5 wheels.
It seem that someone mix the wheels on this HW City #13 ’07 Chevy Tahoe. The black j5 with blue rims (j5bk/bu-rim) are from the Street Power Cadillac Escalade. The common wheels on the Tahoe are black mc5 with a blue rim (mc5bk/bu-rim).
Here’s an interesting find listed on eBay. The seller call these wheels mc5 but they are actually black pr5 with a yellow rim (pr5bk/yw-rim) I don’t know how rare but I would look a little closer at this model.
The #250 ’70 Chevy Chevelle SS has two distinct bases bright orange and dark orange.
A few new varaitions came across my desk the other day the that I need to share.
Hw City Nightburnerz – #23 Toyota AE-86 Corolla in black with white rim mc5 (mc5bk/wh-rim). The common one having chrome rims.
HW Wheels Racing #132 Nerve Hammer with white sp10 wheels.
And the last one for this week is the Ford F-150 with red 5 spoke construction wheels (ct5rd)
Kmart Collector Day never fails to produce a great variation. This time it’s a wheel variation on the HW City #34 red Olds442 W-30. First we had pr5bk/gd-rim and equally as common os5bk/gd-rim. Now Kmart produced in small quantities os5b/rd-rim.
International variations keep on coming. The latest two are the HW Racing #113 yellow Dieselboy with os5gd and the HW Racing #130 mf turquoise Tarmac Attack with os5bk/gd-rim. And not to confuse you altogether the same Tarmac Attack with found in the states with a pr5bk/yw-rim wheel variation
Look for the j5bk/yw-rim (top car) wheel variation on the Volkswagen Golf GTI it’s been showing up at Target in “f” cases.
Ya gotta look twice for these next two variations. The HW Racing X-Raycers #132 Nerve Hammer in a translucent or clear orange body. Also the #137 ’69 Chevy The first ones appeared with the gray roll cage and the latest version no longer has the roll cage.
Look for the HW City ’07 Cadillac Escalade in black with a chrome or satin chrome grille and interior. Chrome at this time seems to be the harder of the two,
One variation to come out in the last year in few different models is the gray and black interiors. The latest one to come across my desk. It’s the ’73 Falcon XB. It was first reported on the Super and then found on the normal issue.
The HW Racing – HW Race Team #102 Rennen Rig has been seen on short card with white rim black j5 wheels (j5bk.wh-rim) Don’t forger to look for those short card variations.
The Subaru WRX STI comes with gold mc5 wheels (mc5gd) or yellow 10 spoke (sp10yw). I believe the yellow 10 spoke will be the harder of the two.
The HW Showroom – HW Performance #242 Super ’72 Ford Gran Torino Sport has a large and small K&N hood tampo.
Both the mf white HW Race Team #105 ’13 Ford Mustang GT and HW Race Team #103 Nitro Doorslammer come with wheel variations chrome 5 spokes (sp5) on the Mustang and red chrome 5 spokes (sp5rd) on the Nitro Doorslammer.
Check you interiors on the BMW M3 left over interiors from the limited run Hot Wheels Racing -Road Race series made there way into the mainline version. Look for the roll bar and right hand drive to score this tough variation.
The Muscle Mania #233 orange ’71 El Camino currently out has a wheel variation. The common one has all orange chrome mc5 and the other wheel being found is an orange rim mc5.
The dark metal flake blue #154 BMW 2002 was first release with mc5 wheels and in “E” cases it is being found with white rim mc5.
It been a wild week for variations finds. First off is the Chevrolet SS this one is the same as the blisterpack but with white pr5 wheels. It’s currently being found in 3-pack but I also would check 9-car gift packs.
Along with that HW Racing Nitro Doorslammer and ’13 Ford Mustang on international long and short cards are currently coming out with wheels variations. Red 5-spokes on the Nitro and on the Mustang regular 5 spokes (picutre coming soon)And if that isn;’t enough you will really have to look to see this one. The HW Showroom ’92 BMW M3 is coming out in E cases. with the interior from the rare short run Hot Wheels Racing Road Race series. Look for right hand drive and roll bar.
Another pair of wheel variations and now it’s on the 2012 #123 Aston Martin one-77 not only found with chrome rim black mc5 (mc5bk/ch-rim) it was recently found with open 5 spokes (os5) this make 4 different wheels on this model.
Two different wheel variations are reported on the HW Showroom – Asphalt Assault #154 BMW 2002 along with the common mc5 wheels it is being found with open 5 spoke (os5) and black mc5 with white rim (mc5bk/wh-rim).
Another wheel variation is available on the HW City #47 Fast Gassin a few have are being reported with black with chrome rim mc5 (mc5bk/ch-rim).
As you’re rummaging through the dump bin at Walmart take a closer look at the HW Showroom #162 Custom ’62 Chevy. Some of the remaining interiors from the previous blue release with the surfboard were used-up in the satin red release.
If you are a wheel variation collector this is a variation you should b looking for. The Jeep Scrambler with the off-road 6 spoke (or6) comes with either red chrome rims or orange chrome rims. Orange chrome are the latest to be found.
In the E case dump bins at Walmart turned up this wheel variation on the #4 red Olds 442 W-30. Gold chrome rimmed pr5 wheels on gold chrome rim os5 wheels. It may be regional but the pr5 version seems to be tougher of the two to find.
A casting change for the better. The HW City – Nightburnerz #28 Nissan 350Z early in the run had the regular issue body plastic wing. Early in the production run in pearl white it was recast with a metal wing as a part of the body. This makes the plastic wing version rare and hard to find. The plastic wing seems to be more common on the west coast.
I know this isn’t a 2013 variation but I just discovered this one staring at a Walmart Blitz 9-packs. It looks like the Super Cannon has joined the cut-back-on-the-manufacturing-cost club and has been redesign without the rockets, rear gun and metal base.
The red ’12 Camaro ZL1 #193 with clear red wheels is a common variation in 9-car gift packs. This version on a single blister-pack is drying up fast. The car’s wheels were changed to solid red after it’s release into a single blister-pack.
Look at the grille on the top of the #144 blue and yellow Wheel Loader some are smooth and some are mesh.
There are more and more reports of the 2012 #58 ’52 Chevy Treasure Hunts missing the rear fender tampo. In my opinion there are enough now to call it a variation.
I came across a dark red wing on #158 Nissan Skyline GT-R (R34) at a local TRU. I’ve seen both light and dark red but this one is the darkest I found.
It’s been pointed out ot me that there are two different runs of blue on the interior of the #214 ’69 Chevelle SS 396. Dark and light.
