This year starts out with 190 mainline cars; Series 5 is the final year for Classics there is 30 cars in the series with 15 of them being new castings, This series will continue through the first half of 2010. Larry Wood celebrated his 40th anniversary with Mattel with a series called Larry’s Garage, with 20 of his designs which include new tooling and come in 2 to 3 colors each. Another series Dragstrip Demons with 30 cars featured realistic design from the nostalgia drag racing days. Color changing cars are back this year with a new line called Color Shifters. Ferrari Racer series was out for a 3^rd year with 24 more models. Late in 2009 Mattel introduced a popular line with the collectors, Hot Wheels Delivery – Sweet Rides, 16 cars with candy graphics.
